Sewer Line Repair in Everett, WA
Clogged pipes are one of the most common problems that households and offices face in regards to sewer lines. Using a highly specialized camera our technicians are able to discover the exact location and cause of the clog. Once diagnosis and placement have been confirmed, our team will either snake the clog loose, or deploy hydro jetting methods to eradicate the blockage.
Snaking is generally used with clogs that are hair or debris based. Snaking is the process of placing a long flexible wire that locks up when confronted with pressure. By locking, the technician can then push against the clog to break it up. This can effectively eliminate many types of clogs. However, hydro jetting is used with tree root infestations, thick scum build up or other difficult clogs that are not as easy to break apart. Hydro jetting is the process of using highly pressurized water to clear out debris or build up within pipes. It is able to clear even the toughest of clogs in a matter of minutes.
Other common sewer problems are cracks, leaks or corrosion from old pipes. If you are experiencing these problems, Jim Dandy Sewer and Plumbing can lend a hand. For structurally sound pipes (those with not so large cracks in them or limited corrosion) an epoxy liner can be placed within the old pipe. Technicians send a highly specialized camera into the problem pipes to assess damage, as well as to measure the diameter and length of the pipe.
Once this has been done, an epoxy liner is chosen and cut to be placed within the pre-existing pipe. The pipe is then carefully guided in by machinery handled by technicians. Once it is set in place, hot pressurized air fills the pipe, allowing the flexible epoxy liner to expand and perfectly cover the interior of the pipe. It is then left to cure, or harden, into a fully functional pipe within the original.
At times, CIPP methods can not be done to a corroded or cracked pipe. This is due to the crack being too large, or the corrosion wearing the structural integrity of the pipe to the point that it would not be able to support the CIPP process. In situations like these, our team uses a pipe burster to break apart the preexisting pipe and replace it with a new one.
The process involves taking a pipe burster and inserting it into the pipe. it is then dragged along the length of the pipe to break it open. Afterwards, an epoxy liner that has been specially cut to fit perfectly in place of the old pipe is inserted. it is left to cure for a few hours before it becomes fully functional.
