CIPP lining, short for cured-in-place pipe lining, is a relatively new form of pipeline rehabilitation technology. The term refers to the unique ability to install a new pipe inside of the old pipe through curing an epoxy resin inside of the host pipe. The process is meant to be fast and take a day or less to complete. Jim Dandy Sewer & Plumbing practices CIPP lining as the preferred method for repairing pipes, not just because it’s fast, but because it’s affordable for customers as well.
The CIPP lining process involves inserting a flexible tube coated with epoxy resin on the exterior into the damaged pipeline. The tube is expanded by an artificial bladder inside of the tube, and as it inflates, it forces the epoxy resin on the outside to be transferred to the inner surface of the pipe. The resin evenly covers the inside of the pipe while filling in cracks and leaks. It is given anywhere from a few to several hours to cure, and once it does, the tube is now hardened to the inside of the pipe, resulting in a smooth and durable new pipe liner.
What Makes CIPP Lining Affordable Compared To Dig-And-Replace Methods?
CIPP lining has the advantage of being more cost-efficient than other repair methods for various reasons, including:
CIPP lining doesn’t require heavy digging to be effective. Rather than digging deep, intrusive trenches across homeowner’s yards, we utilize existing access points, such as a cleanout, or a small hole that we carefully dig ourselves in order to install the liner. This saves customers money because they won’t need to budget for landscaping restoration costs or permits to allow heavy machinery on their property.
- Fast Turnaround Time
By cutting out steps involving digging or other steps, we are able to complete repair jobs more quickly. This saves money since our customers won’t need to pay for labor crews on their property working for weeks at a time.
- Long-Lasting Solution
The epoxy resin we install hardens into a liner that is more durable and efficient than other standard pipeline materials. This saves money by preventing accidents from occurring in the future and keeping pipeline systems running smoothly.
